Leica 3D Machine Control System
MTM Precision Excavation Technology
Powered by Leica iCON gps 160 + Integrated 3D Guidance Technology
MTM's excavator fleet is equipped with advanced Leica 3D machine control technology that turns heavy equipment into precision excavation instruments. From stream restoration to complex grading, operators excavate directly from engineered 3D models with millimeter-level accuracy.
Overview
Precision matters when you're building engineered streams, shaping wetlands, installing infrastructure, or working in environmentally sensitive terrain.
MTM uses Leica 3D excavation technology to eliminate guesswork from complex earthmoving operations. Instead of relying on grade stakes, visual estimation, or repeated survey checks, our operators work from live 3D digital models displayed directly inside the excavator cab. The result is faster production, tighter tolerances, reduced environmental impact, and work completed right the first time.
Key Features
Dual GNSS Machine Positioning
Dual antennas continuously calculate machine location and heading, even while stationary. Operators instantly know exact machine orientation without driving forward to establish heading.

High-Precision IMU Sensor Network
Integrated sensors track boom, stick, and bucket articulation in real time. The system calculates the exact 3D location of the bucket teeth without lag.

Live In-Cab 3D Guidance
Operators view live cut/fill guidance on a 10-inch touchscreen synced directly to the project CAD model. No stepping out to check grades. No guessing. No connecting survey stakes.

Built for Harsh Field Conditions
IP66/IP67 weather protection, aluminum construction, and SmartLink outage protection keep operations moving in wet, remote, and rugged environments. Reliable performance in stream corridors, wetlands, ravines, and heavy canopy sites.
