The Project Scope

Morehead State’s goal was clear: install a banner large enough to be seen from blocks away, mounted high on a building in the heart of downtown. The timeline was tight, and the setting posed unique challenges—uneven urban terrain, limited setup space, and the need to protect historic building materials.

MTM was responsible for the entire operation, from planning and rigging to equipment operation and final placement. Every aspect was handled in-house, ensuring consistency, accountability, and efficiency.

Tools and Tactics

MTM’s crew used a SkyTrak 8042 Telehandler and a Lift-All man lift to reach the upper mounting points safely. This approach allowed for quick vertical access without the need for scaffolding or major site prep.

  • SkyTrak 8042: 8,000 lb capacity and 42-ft reach, ideal for navigating rough surfaces and tight spaces.

  • Lift-All Man Lift: Provided stable access for precise banner placement and anchor work at height.

By mapping anchor points ahead of time and prepping all fasteners in advance, the team minimized on-site labor and ensured that no damage was done to the building face.

The Outcome

The full installation was completed in under four hours, and the finished product now serves as a bold visual for MSU—visible across downtown Morehead and supporting campus visibility and community pride.
